Job Title: Community Based Protection (CBP) Team Leader
Report To: CBP Program Manager
Contract Type: Limited Contract – Project Based
BACKGROUND INFORMATION – JOB SPECIFIC
JOHUD is one of the oldest and widest NGOs in Jordan, with a unique national footprint and community links, stemming from more than 45 years of working from and with local communities, in cooperation with regional and international donors, governmental and private sector entities, and civil society organizations. However, it is our presence at the community level and the historic relationships that we have within these communities that define JOHUD as an organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The CBP team Leader is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities under the CBP program, Community support committee’s activities, managing team members, CSCs performance, and the overall management of the project.
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the CBP Program Manager, the CBP Team Leader will be held accountable to the below responsibilities:
· Exercise overall responsibility for financial management of the project, track budget and ensure that all activities and expenditure are conducted within budget allocations and manages project activities according to the scope of the grant and budget.
· Works with the Project Team to implement monitoring and evaluation plans for the project, and facilitate monitoring and review of the project with staff and partners to assess outcomes and capture lessons learned.
· Supervising the design, implementation of (20) CSCs around the Jordan to ensure social cohesion as an intermediate result.
· Continuously seeking new partnership and projects opportunities and the ability to prepare concept notes to be submitted for new grants or funding opportunities.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships and coordination between partner entities to ensure a high-quality, transparent, and evidence-based program implementation and evaluation.
· Manage project budget (in cooperation with Project Manager) and coordinate across other Core Competencies.
· Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
· Regularly update the Program manager on progression of project s as per protocol.
· Liaise closely with local authorities, donor and partner agencies to ensure project compliance with donor policies and regulations and complementary with other agencies' efforts.
· Provide technical guidance on the overall strategy for project design and management.
· Ensure that all project activities are both in line with global standards and our partners requirements.
· Interviewing and hiring new volunteers in collaboration with JOHUD and UNHCR focal points in addition to evaluating and managing/supporting existing volunteers.
· Provide advisory feedback to the Field Coordinators about the activity’s implementation as well as action plans
· Develop and review monthly expenditure plans.
· Coordinate with the finance, logistics, and procurement departments.
· Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on Projects activities internally and to donors.
· Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility as and when needed
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in business, social studies, project management or any relevant field.
· Project Management Professional (PMP)/ Project Management for Development (PMD) certification preferred
Experience:
· 3-4 years of experience working in a mid-management position with relevant work experience, within NGOs/INGOs and UN in development context.
· Familiarity with and a supportive attitude towards processes of strengthening local organizations and building local capacities for self-management.
· Willingness to undertake regular field visits and interact with different stakeholders, especially primary stakeholders
· Excellent leadership and analytical skills
· Excellent command of Microsoft office.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Self-motivated, results-driven and excellent sense of organization.
· Ability to respond effectively to deadlines and high-pressure situations.
· Ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision
· High level of cultural adaptability and sensitivity.
Language Requirements:
· Fluency in English and Arabic required
