Job description
Luminus Technical University College (LTUC) - a member of Luminus Education - has partnered with Code Fellows, a coding academy offering world-class software development training, to introduce a Coding Program under its School of Advanced Technology. Through this step, LTUC aims to bring to the local market the time-efficient and industry-tested teaching methods and curriculum of Code Fellows to help create home-grown talent that can meet the needs and grow the potential of Jordan’s evolving technology sector.

The pioneering Coding Program leverages fast-paced, career-focused, and immersive education is known for driving tangible results in a short amount of time. Geared towards passionate learners, the Program hones the skills required for today’s jobs by providing students with hands-on software development experience in full-stack JavaScript, Python, ASP.NET, and Java, as well as beginner-level HTML, CSS, and JavaScript courses, so they may effectively contribute to companies they join.


Responsibilities 

• Take the lead in the implementation of the current and future projects related to the coding program under the management of the Dean 

• Lead junior instructional staff team members, conduct weekly 1:1’s and team meetings with campus instructors to convey student feedback and ensure proper corrections are taking place. 

• Provide weekly status reports. 

• Hold junior instructional team to the procedures and quality standards detailed in the Coding Program powered by Code Fellows documentation. 

• Develop and support programs that improve instructional team performance. 

• Orchestrate course planning and retrospective meetings. 

• Ensure the best possible, highest quality learning environment for students. 

• Instruct according to the guidelines and rules set forth in the Powered By Code Fellows Instructor Handbook. 

• Proactively assist students’ learning in-person and online. 

• Be available to students outside of lecture, in person, as needed. 

• Act as a trainer for Assistant Instructors. 

• Effectively manage and leverage the assistance of teaching assistants. 

• Ensure that the weekly instructor surveys are submitted. 

• Evaluate assignments and provide meaningful feedback as needed. 

• Alert the management to any significant student issues and provide support as needed. 

• Support other instructors and teaching assistants with the curriculum, as needed. 

• Record student performance to admissions/headquarters staff for record keeping. 

• Instruct 101 courses, potentially out of campus, on a limited number of Saturdays throughout the year. 

 

Skills & Qualifications 

• A Bachelor in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant studies 

• 4+ years’ professional software development experience in Jordan or MENA region 

• Professional experience as an instructor or educator, including experience teaching students how to code, recent relevant coding coursework as a student, or demonstrated coding ability. 

• Experience coaching and developing a team of instructors and/or software developers. 

• Highly organized individual able to keep multiple projects and tasks on track at once. 

• Consistently interested in the consumption of new technologies and incorporating these into the existing curriculum. 

• Demonstrated experience in working with partners to achieve program result 

• Fluent in English
